I re-covered my Leica IIIa with a saddle tan composite leather covering after the original vulcanite fell apart in a puff of rust and dust. I typically don’t use cameras with any color (black vulcanite and chrome bodies for me, please!). However, I saw the Leica Hermes Special Edition video on Vimeo, and thought it looks simply perfect. So, I ordered the nearest thing to the tanned leather on that camera from cameraleather.com (excellent source of replacement coverings, by the way) and I’m pleased to say that it looks simply perfect next to my Billingham bag.

You can click through to the original. The splotchiness is from the camera noise!
